Fellow professionals, could you share how long the service life of the air valves in reciprocating machines is? How were they all repaired? Previously, we would send the items back to the factory, but now, due to financial constraints, we have to repair them ourselves. We ordered a valve repair kit – what does this kit mainly contain? Which components are prone to damage and need to be replaced?
For different media, gas tank compressors can become dirty within a maximum of 3 months or as little as a few days; those working with clean media can last over 10,000 hours. The maintenance kit includes valve plates, springs, and buffer pieces. If the valve line is damaged, we send it back to the factory for repair, as our repair shop doesn’t have lathes
The suction/exhaust valve structures of reciprocating compressors differ; I’m not sure which type you are referring to. The smaller ones can be ground and replaced, while for the larger ones, the blades, springs, and the surface of the grinding valve plate need to be replaced; if necessary, the surface can also be machined. As for your question: 1. The service life depends on factors such as the environment, pressure, temperature, as well as the suitability of the material and design ； 2. Grinding, part replacement, cutting ； 3. The air valve repair kit is supplied according to the equipment model of the manufacturer ； 4. Contact areas of the static/dynamic valve ports, valve disc fracture, and spring fatigue damage.
Basic process for valve repair: Immersion, cleaning; repairing the valve body, including machining and grinding; replacing the valve disc, cushion plates, and springs (contents of the repair kit); surface shot blasting; assembly, adjustment, and inspection testing
