Why is it required that the barring time for cold start-up be no less than 4 hours?
It is required that the gears and bearings be properly lubricated, and that the lubricating oil pressure meet the specified requirements. Generally, it is not recommended to let compressors rotate at low speed for too long
Why can’t the barring time be too long?
At this cranking speed, the seal will operate in contact. Scratches are expected to appear on the contact surface, but they will not prevent normal operation.
At low speeds, the turning rotor fails to form an oil film with the bearing shells, which can easily damage the shells
