A shrill screeching sound from a multi-stage centrifugal pump?

The double-support horizontal multi-stage centrifugal pump is equipped with single-face mechanical seals at both ends, following the PLAN21 sealing scheme; a flushing pipeline runs from the middle section of the pump body and is connected to the mechanical seal flushing ports via a pressure-reducing orifice. Currently, a harsh screeching sound can be heard at the mechanical seals at both ends as well as at the flushing pipes; all other parameters of the pump are normal during operation. Could someone please advise on what could be causing this harsh screeching sound?
Change the orifice diameter of the orifice plate, or add another one
This pump has only started having this problem recently; it’s been in use for several years.
You can try replacing the orifice plate; we’ve encountered this issue before
Okay! Is it because the orifice plate is blocked? Why was there no sound at all in the previous years, but it suddenly appeared recently?
It is recommended to conduct a disassembly inspection as soon as possible, to prevent the equipment from being damaged beyond repair.
