Our factory has a reducer (ZQ1000). During operation the day before yesterday, it was observed that the intermediate shaft was moving erratically; the bearing end caps had been damaged, while the bearings themselves were intact. The issue is that the gear on the intermediate shaft should be subjected only to radial loads – so why is there axial movement?
Provide the reducer model——Are the gears straight-toothed, helical, or herringbone?
This phenomenon likely occurred due to damage before it was put into use; was it caused by maintenance or installation, and only discovered later? A disassembly inspection is recommended. It’s best to take a panoramic photo to see what this reducer looks like, which will facilitate discussion.
It is caused by misalignment or by impacts resulting from excessive bearing clearance.
I think you make a valid point; it’s probably due to excessive bearing clearance combined with the axial force exerted when the reducer is in operation.

Judging from the appearance, it seems to be the result of axial force; as for exactly how this axial force arises, it needs to be analyzed based on the specific circumstances. It seems to be caused by assembly or damage defects.
Is the output shaft bearing also in good condition? Is the keyway on the output shaft damaged?
I suspect yours is refurbished
