I’m seeking advice from experts: when a horizontal centrifugal pump is installed for the first time, are there any specific requirements regarding the axial and radial alignment of the flanges on the inlet and outlet pipes compared to the pump’s own flanges? Or does it just need to be possible for the bolt to be easily inserted into the flange when it is in a free state? Thank you! !
The installation of pipelines shall meet the following requirements: (1) The inside of the pipes and their ends must be cleaned thoroughly; the sealing surfaces and threads must not be damaged. The end faces of the flanges or the axis lines of the threads at the connection points must be parallel and aligned, and forced connections must be avoided. The weight of the piping should not be borne by the water pump; it should have its own support structures. (2) After the pipeline is connected to the pump, no welding or gas cutting should be performed on it. If welding or gas cutting is necessary, the pipeline must be removed or appropriate measures taken to prevent weld slag from entering the pump and damaging its components. After installation, turning the pump shaft and impeller should produce no frictional noises or signs of jamming; otherwise, the pump should be disassembled to determine the cause. (3) The layout of the pipelines should be rechecked in accordance with the equipment specifications and design drawings. (4) Each water pump’s outlet pipe should be equipped with a valve, a check valve, and a pressure gauge ; When a water pump draws water directly from the outdoor water supply network, a valve, a check valve, and a pressure gauge should be installed on the suction pipe, and a bypass pipe equipped with a valve should be provided around the water pump. 5) Vibration isolation and noise reduction for water pumps: Flexible rubber joints or bellows-type metal joints should be installed on the inlet and outlet pipes of the water pumps ; Elastic hangers and elastic supports are recommended for pipe supports ; To achieve good vibration isolation, foundation vibration isolation, pipeline vibration isolation, and support vibration isolation all must be implemented together. The area, number of layers, quantity, and type of vibration isolation pads (shock absorbers), as well as the type and quantity of flexible connectors, must be selected and installed based on the calculation results. Parameters such as the model of the shock absorber, its mounting dimensions, and the number required are directly related to the stability of the water pump and its vibration reduction performance; the determination of these parameters must be carried out through calculations and verification by professional technicians. At the points where the water pump discharge pipe passes through walls and floor slabs, measures should be taken to prevent solid sound transmission.
In my opinion, for all flange connections, as long as all bolts can pass through freely, that’s sufficient. I can’t remember what the pulse value requirements are. After all, they’re all just metal blocks; nothing that moves.
As long as there is no stress, it’s fine; the parallelism of the two end surfaces should be good, with no gaps. If possible, align the pump properly before piping it in. Otherwise, if the pump and pipeline are not aligned, it will be impossible to locate them later.
