The main purpose of a single motor test is to check whether the motor’s performance is normal. It is a necessary step before the individual test of the pump. The main checks include the motor, bearings (temperature rise and amplitude), as well as listening to the sound of the motor to detect any abnormalities. What is the temperature rise range, and what is the vibration range? I need some guidance on this. Are the motors of the high-pressure pump and those of the low-pressure pump tested in the same way?
Check for any abnormal noises or vibrations, ensure that the temperature is within normal ranges, verify that the installation quality is satisfactory, determine the magnetic center line, and also record the coasting time----
The general situation is as follows; by checking the details, it becomes clear why a separate test is necessary: (1) Disconnect the coupling and manually rotate the shaft – it should do so smoothly, without any sticking or abnormal noises. Then start the motor intermittently to confirm that its rotation direction matches the required one. (2) After confirming that there are no abnormalities when the motor is operated in jog mode, start the motor and let it run continuously for 2 hours. Check the operating conditions of the motor; during this period, check every 30 minutes whether there are any abnormalities in terms of vibration, temperature, current, etc., and keep records of these checks. (3) The motor’s starting current should not be too high, and the operating current should be below the rated current. (4) The temperature rise of the motor must not exceed the values specified on the nameplate; generally, the temperature rise of rolling bearings should not exceed 40°C, with the maximum temperature not exceeding 75°C.
