On May 14th, the largest domestic turbo-generator of this type, with a capacity of 400 megawatts and fully air-cooled design, developed by Harbin Electric Group Co., Ltd., completed its final assembly tests successfully and was sent out. The unit exhibits excellent performance in all aspects, and its overall technical level is among the best in China; it will be used in the cogeneration project of the 4th Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps in Kekedala. Harbin Electric Motors strictly adheres to Harbin Electric Group’s requirement of \"ensuring the achievement of targets for projects under development,\" providing a solid foundation for the high-quality development and smooth shipment of the generators. This generator employs an innovative multi-stage coupled high-efficiency ventilation and cooling system, successfully overcoming the key technical barriers in the field of ventilation and cooling for large-capacity air-cooled units. By optimizing the layout of the circulating air path, the R&D team achieved efficient heat exchange through multi-stage coupling of the cooling medium, thereby greatly improving the heat exchange performance inside the generator and significantly raising its output capacity. This generator is capable of operating in complex conditions such as high-altitude environments, wide load ranges, and flexible peak-shaving, providing original technical solutions and benchmark project examples for the technological upgrading of next-generation large-capacity fully air-cooled steam turbine generators. With the implementation of the \"Implementation Plan for the Special Action to Upgrade Coal-fired Power Plants of the New Generation,\" air-cooled turbogenerators have evolved from alternative technologies to the mainstream solution in this industry, thanks to their advantages such as water conservation through recycling, flexibility in peak load management, high reliability, ease of maintenance, and controllable life-cycle costs. These features align well with policy guidelines, making them a key factor in the sustainable development of coal-fired power generation in water-scarce areas. They play a vital role in advancing the construction of new power systems and achieving the \"dual carbon\" goals. It is understood that the Kekedala cogeneration project is located in Kekedala City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It plans to install 2 fully air-cooled steam turbine generators, both of which will be developed by Harbin Electric Machinery.
