About soft connections

What exactly does this soft connection of the reactor feed line do? The reactor has a weighing module. I see that some soft connections are vertical and some are horizontal. Is there any difference? Which one is better and what are the requirements?
I saw the pneumatic valve, I like this. Doesn’t it depend on the pipeline design whether the soft connection is vertical or horizontal?
This post was last edited by altpage on 2017-1-2 00:15 Soft connections are better than spring supports and hangers here； And looking at the picture, if a spring support hanger is installed on this pipe, there will be no room for it. The soft connection can well protect the valve below.
It should not affect the use whether it is installed horizontally or vertically.
It is softly connected, usually because there is one device that can remain active. The relationship between the soft connection and the reactor weighing module cannot be seen from the photo.
