As the title suggests, I currently have several blueprints from Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology, on which the holes for foundation bolts in the bottom plate of the leg-type supports are marked as requiring M20 bolts with an extension length of 70 mm. So the question is: does this 70mm extension length refer to the amount by which it protrudes beyond the nut after tightening, or to the total length of the bolt, or yet another the amount by which it protrudes beyond the base plate of the leg?
It can’t be the length beyond the nut after it becomes solid; my understanding is that it refers to the length of the anchor bolt that extends beyond the foundation.
Two sturdy nuts, plus the thickness of the base plate, result in a length of around 70mm.
I’ve really never seen such a requirement on standard container body diagrams; it should be the length of the bolt extending beyond the base plate, and after using double nuts and washers, not much should be visible. The bolt protrusion length should generally be specified on the equipment foundation diagram.
It is the length of the bolt beyond the base plane.
It is the length that extends from the connection surface of the two devices before installation. Do you understand? It’s up to you~
It should be the length of the bolt beyond the base plane; it’s best to confirm this with the designer!

HGT20643 only specifies the minimum distance from the edge of the concrete foundation and the depth of embedding for embedded or reserved holes, but it does not specify any requirements regarding the length of the exposed portion of the foot. Therefore, these are the installation requirements put forward by the equipment department to the civil engineering team to facilitate foundation design. Let’s take a look at SHT 3058-2005, \"Code for Basic Design of Heat Exchanger Equipment and Vessels in the Petrochemical Industry\"
This is the length of the anchor bolts that protrude from the equipment foundation; it represents the portion of the bolts that needs to be exposed during the foundation construction phase by the civil engineering team :)
