I would like to ask fellow maritime professionals: what kind of certificates are required in Shandong Province to obtain the qualification for pressure vessel design? Is it the certificate issued by the Shandong Special Equipment Association for those qualified to approve pressure vessel designs of Grade D in Shandong Province? I’ve heard that there are also D1 and D2 certificates; what are the restrictions associated with them? Can the certificate for approving pressure vessel designs of Grade D in Shandong Province be used to obtain the qualification for pressure vessel design in that province as well? What restrictions are required for the design approval personnel of Class D pressure vessels in Shandong Province? Is an engineer needed?

The qualification certificate for pressure vessel design approvers in Shandong Province is obtained by attending the training courses for D-level pressure vessel design approvers organized by the Shandong Special Equipment Association. It is equivalent to **’s D1D2 certificate, and allows one to obtain the pressure vessel design qualification in Shandong. According to the regulations for the design approval of pressure vessels and pressure pipelines, your company needs to have five people take the exams: two for review, two for verification, and one for design – a total of at least five people. Once they pass the exams, the company can apply for a D-class pressure vessel design qualification certificate.
Is the D-level certificate within the province equivalent to that issued by the Rating and Bidding Committee? Is it recognized in other provinces?
The design for Class D pressure vessels is applicable nationwide.
It is best to obtain a certificate issued by the Pot Capacity Committee, as it has high authority; ideally, one should get a Class A certificate.
If it is manufactured at small D level by the manufacturer, a D level design certificate is sufficient.
In one unit, it is sufficient for two people to hold certificates as pressure vessel design approvers, but there must be at least five designers....
