Take a look, what is this? There’s a lot of oil on it; where does the oil come from?

How can one tell that it’s a multi-stage pump fan?
This is the free-end bearing housing or thrust disc housing of a multi-stage centrifugal pump; the fins on the outside serve for heat dissipation, working in the same way as those on the motor.
