Specifications for steel platform handrails

I’m working on a project that involves installing steel platforms. Regarding the handrails on these platforms, GB4053 specifies that the diameter should be between 30 and 50 mm. The book \"Design of Chemical Equipment – Steel Frameworks\" states that 3/4” black iron pipes can also be used. Could someone tell me whether it’s acceptable to use steel pipes with a diameter of less than 30 mm for the handrails? Thank you!
It probably won’t work; it’s too small and lacks sufficient strength.
The diameter is too small; aside from its strength issues, a handrail is meant to be used for holding on to. Try holding one with a diameter of 30 mm – you’ll see that it’s indeed too small. 48 and 57 are commonly used for steel structures
We generally use steel pipes of Φ32 or larger.
It’s too thick; it wastes material and is hard to hold in the hand. It’s too thin, not sturdy, and wobbles. Generally, 1-inch steel pipes are preferred; if they’re not available, 3/4-inch pipes will do as well, though they don’t look as good when viewed up close.
Generally, 1” or 1 1/4” steel pipes are chosen
Rules are rigid and fixed; as long as the design calculations are satisfactory, I think it’s fine
