The working medium is high-pressure oxygen; the designed pressure for this buffer tank is 32 MPa, the designed temperature is 100°C, the operating pressure ranges from 26 to 30 MPa, and the operating temperature ranges from 0 to 30°C. The volume of the tank is 200 L. According to what I’ve read on forums, 304 stainless steel or Q345R are the materials that are commonly used for this purpose. Degreasing is an important step in the processing process. I would like to ask which of these materials is better or safer for such operating conditions, and whether there are any materials that are superior to these two. I’d like some advice
I think either one will work; if Q345R is used, the thickness will be much thinner. If clean air is a concern, then it’s better to use 304. After all, carbon steel will rust

200L? Its diameter shouldn’t be large. The cylinder can be made from thick-walled pipes; 304 is aesthetically pleasing and convenient to use.
Based on a diameter of 250 mm, the wall thickness is calculated to be 30 mm or more. According to GB150 standards, the wall thickness of 304 stainless steel pipes should be less than 28 mm; steel plates or forgings meet the requirements.
Can the diameter be reduced? If it can’t be changed, choose low-alloy steel. Add requirements for sandblasting for rust removal and degreasing.
It can be made smaller, but it will be very high. For low-alloy steel, should Q345R be chosen? These two steel grades are the main ones recommended on the forum
If it’s DN250, the diameter is quite small; it’s better to choose a pipe material, Q345E. If Q345R coil is chosen, the diameter should preferably be over 400.
If a thinner device thickness is desired, Q370R can be chosen
