For the level and pressure control of thermal deaerators, should electric control valves or electric shut-off valves be used? Are there any recommended models?
Either one is fine; it depends on the control technology used. For example, if a variable frequency drive is used for the feed water pump, the inlet valve may not be necessary.
To maintain stability or constancy, the water level needs to be adjusted, and the pressure needs to be adjusted; of course, control devices are required for this. As the name implies, a shut-off valve operates only in fully open or fully closed positions; it is used solely for shutting off flow without any regulation.
Isolation valves also belong to control valves and can be used for regulation as well. The result of this adjustment is that the controlled quantity takes on fluctuating values; as long as the range of these fluctuations meets the process requirements, it is acceptable. Isolation valves are widely used for controlling the water level in water tanks.
