Leakages often occur first at the welds of ordinary containers; are there any methods to strengthen the welds between the cylinder and the head?
What medium do you use? Why isn’t our head seal leaking?
It can’t be that serious, is there an issue with the material chosen?
Leakages at welds are rarely caused by strength issues. The most likely reasons for such leaks are quality problems inherent in the weld itself, corrosion, or residual welding stresses; it is necessary to determine the cause based on the specific operating conditions.
One is to ensure weld quality, and the other is post-weld heat treatment for containers in special media.
The leakage at the container welds is due to various factors, and there are no methods available to strengthen the welds between the cylinder and the head. The only option is to raise the requirements for the acceptance criteria of weld inspections, and to carry out stress-relief treatments such as heat treatment. If stress corrosion is present, only material selection adjustments need to be considered.
There is another factor: whether the welding material is compatible with the base material; using the wrong electrode can also cause the weld to corrode prematurely.
The design of weld leakage mainly focuses on four aspects: 1. Welding quality, 2. Welding materials, 3. Operating environment, and 4. Weld residual stress.
