Selection of heat exchangers

In the segmented medium-temperature conversion process, a fixed plate heat exchanger is added at the outlet of one section. As the catalyst ages, pulverization leads to blockages on the shell side of the plate heat exchanger, and repeated cleaning attempts prove ineffective. It is planned to change the type of heat exchanger in order to facilitate future cleaning. What are the standards or guidelines for selecting a heat exchanger? Are there any areas for improvement in the above process? I hope experienced members of the forum can give me some guidance!
A removable spiral plate heat exchanger can be used instead; we have many application examples for it in the same type of equipment
