The boiler operation procedures state that boilers must not be operated at temperatures or pressures above the specified limits. But what exactly are these specified temperatures and pressures? Is there a clear definition? For example, if the operating temperature of the boiler superheater is currently 263 degrees, with a design temperature of 280 degrees, does exceeding the limit refer to not going above 263 degrees or 280 degrees? Also, what should the high alarm temperature for the boiler be set at?
It must not exceed the operating temperature, which is the maximum temperature limit; otherwise, it will affect the selection of the design temperature.
Is the high alarm temperature higher than the operating temperature or equal to it?
Although I don’t work with boilers, I think the alarm temperature should not exceed the maximum operating temperature, or there should be a set pressure similar to that of a safety valve. The alarm temperature is between the operating temperature and the design temperature. The regulations only require that the operating temperature not exceed the design value; they do not specify exact values for triggering alarms, which are determined by the actual manufacturing process itself.
