The steel plate grade is followed by (HIC) or (R-HIC). For example, Q345R (HIC) is a Q345R container plate that has been tested for hydrogen-induced cracking resistance. Q345R (R-HIC) is based on Q345R (HIC) and has been tested by SSCC, that is, sulfide stress corrosion test.

Currently, there is no specialized anti-H2S steel plate in the pressure vessel industry. For container materials in GB713, HIC resistance testing can be required in the contract.
