It is understood that the **water quality standards for industrial boilers currently in use are likely the national standard GBl576—2001; this standard sets very clear requirements regarding the pH values of both the boiler feed water and the boiler water. The reason why a pH electrode is used to strictly monitor the pH value of boiler water is mainly to keep the pH values of both the boiler feedwater and the boiler water within a certain range, thereby reducing corrosion caused by carbon dioxide and ammonia on the pipes.
