Table 10-3 in clause 10.3.3.1 of GB150-1998 specifies that the minimum allowable height of the weld bead is 0; in other words, the weld metal shall not be lower than the base material. Refer to this
“Under what conditions can the butt weld of a pressure vessel be lower than the base material, and by how much can it be lower at most? ”————Does it mean that the strength of the weld is lower than that of the base material? ? ?
Answer: For the butt welds of heads that are first welded together and then shaped, it is allowed for the weld level to be lower than that of the base material, with a maximum reduction of 0.5 mm.
If the end cap standards permit it while the manufacturing standards do not, should the stricter requirement be followed?
When the two standards are inconsistent, the higher-level standard should be applied
