As shown in the figure: In the calculation report generated by PVELite, within the section related to internal pressure design calculations, the following error regarding the test pressure appeared: Error – The test pressure was 0 or negative. This generally indicates an error in the input of the dimension in the ‘Projection from Top’ field in the Design Constraints. As a result, the stresses on the elements during hydrotesting could not be calculated. Error – The test pressure is 0 or negative. This usually indicates an error in the dimension entry in the \"Project from Top\" field under \"Design Constraints\". Therefore, it is not possible to calculate the stress on the components during the hydrostatic test. I’m completely confused about this error – why is the hydrostatic test related to “Projection from Top”? When I clicked F1 to get help regarding “Projection from Top”, the explanation given was also confusing. And even when I entered a protrusion length of 150 mm for each pipe, the test pressure was still shown as incorrect. Question for help: 1. In PVElite, what exactly does “Projection from Top” mean in the design constraints? What does it have to do with hydrotesting? 2.RT, how to solve the problem of an error in the test pressure?
I haven’t used it, so I’m not very clear about it. By the way, is this software available in Chinese? Is the text on the right side of the last image in Chinese?
PVELite is an English software with Chinese annotations, but the translations are all machine-generated; they contain many grammatical errors and are not accurate to the actual meaning, making it difficult to use.
Has no expert encountered a similar problem before? I’m sincerely asking for help! ! !

You should enter ‘UG-99b’ (or other options) in the ‘Hydrotest Type’ field instead of ‘User Entered Pressure’, so that PVELite knows how to calculate the hydrotest pressure. Alternatively, if the Hydrotest Type is set to ‘User Entered Pressure’, you need to enter the MAWP for both the shell side and the tube side in the tubesheet input dialog. I’m pretty sure this will resolve your issue. As you know, the software’s translations might not be perfect; therefore, it’s better to take action even if you don’t fully understand something, rather than staying in confusion. Don’t forget my advice to take a course in process control and equipment if you want to work in this field for a long time.
