02 Key Points for On-site Instrument Inspections 1. A reasonable inspection route should be established based on the actual conditions of the company; this route should cover the important instruments located in key equipment and critical areas. 2. Proper PPE (anti-static work clothes, safety shoes, helmets, goggles, and other personal protective equipment) must be worn during inspections. When entering toxic and hazardous areas, portable gas detectors as well as gas masks and positive-pressure air respirators should also be carried. 3. Article 11.3.3 of SH/T 3047-2021 \"Design Code for Occupational Safety and Health in Petrochemical Enterprises\" stipulates that on-site operators and inspectors shall be equipped with wireless communication devices. Wireless communication terminals should establish a communication link with the security management control command center. 4. The instrument inspection work must be carried out on time and in accordance with the inspection route, as specified in the inspection plan. During inspections, the following key points should be noted: ① Instrumentation equipment must be kept clean; nameplates should be clear and free from contamination, and tag plates indicating positions as well as interlock indicator plates must be in good condition. All types of verification tags are clear and within their validity period. ②There are no instances of leakage, dripping, or other such problems. (Priority should be given to checking the instrument interfaces and pressure transfer tubes, valve packings, gas supply circuits, etc.) ③ The instrument display shows no abnormalities, and there are no missing characters on the LCD screen. All types of audio and visual alarm devices on site should be in good condition, and the protective covers of the emergency stop buttons on site should also be intact. ④The instrument panel cover is well-sealed, and there are no loose connections. The sensor probe and shield are free of any foreign objects blocking them. The grounding wire is firmly connected, with no signs of detachment or looseness. ⑤The supply pressure of the pneumatic actuator is normal, and safety measures such as the lead seals on the air source ball valve and the handwheel are in good condition to prevent accidental operation. All types of control valves operate smoothly without sticking or producing abnormal noises. The valve position indication is normal. The rain cover of the control valve is undamaged. ⑥Equipment that is already in operation generally does not suffer from improper selection; the main thing to check is the integrity of its explosion-proof features. ⑦According to the readings from the online analysis instruments, the parameters such as the flow rate, pressure, and temperature of the sample gas in the pretreatment system are within the specified ranges, and the cooling, filtering, and drying units are operating properly. ⑧In winter, special attention should be paid to insulation and heat tracing: the hot water and steam tracing lines are unobstructed, and the electric heat tracing is operating properly. The insulation is intact with no damage.
