According to TSG 07-2019, examinations are required for examiners involved in the revalidation review of pressure vessel design. Are there any organizations that have taken the computer-based examination? How difficult is it?
When we renewed our certificates, there was no computer-based exam
It is said to be difficult, with a closed-book exam and a presentation based on drawings
If there are approved third-party organizations that offer training and examination programs for auditors, it is possible to skip the examination; however, this depends on the auditing organization involved, as some of them do not recognize training provided by third parties. The main training institutions at present are the Industrial Gas Association
It’s now up to the reviewing body to decide; I wonder how they will apply the standards
The authorities are the people who set the standards; the Chemical Equipment Association has limited capabilities
This computer-based exam system was developed around last November. This year, due to the pandemic, certificate renewal reviews were essentially suspended; now they are resuming. It’s likely that only a few people have taken this computer-based exam so far
