It’s very hard to understand the Gas Cylinders Association’s approach

The certification for pressure vessel design review is supposed to be properly managed by the relevant authorities, but somehow gas starts to leak out. The association in charge of regulating this area acts out of greed, which leads to conflicts and chaos within the industry. The qualifications of personnel who conduct audits on pressure vessels are assessed by the relevant gas cylinder associations; each year, many individuals go through training and assessment, and the training costs are substantial, in addition to the difficulty of the examinations. Previously, when obtaining the certificate, the one issued was valid; later on, it was changed to an online exam using questions from the Gas Cylinders Association for use on-site. I just want to ask those people from the Gas Cylinders Association: if the certificates obtained through your training are invalid, why do you still require people to take exams every year? Isn’t that ridiculous? For the sake of money, do we still need the certificates you obtained and those issued by the original evaluation committee? What’s the point of continuing education year after year? You create such chaos over money – can you even manage the industry properly? Isn’t it contradictory to obtain certifications while selling question banks for live exams? Is such capricious behavior driven by money considered management? Is money really that important? Shouldn’t container security be the responsibility? I would like all colleagues to discuss whether this is done for money, resulting in contradictory actions Is it causing chaos in the industry? Is it still meaningful to obtain certifications and pursue continuing education these days? Are the certificates I obtained in the past still useful?
There is no connection between the two; when a company collects evidence, it follows the determination of the expert panel responsible for that process. The certification from the Gas Association is obtained on a voluntary basis; it is not mandatory. As for whether it is related to the renewal of a company’s pressure vessels, this is determined by local policies and the expert panels involved in the certification process
The key issue is that the certificates issued by the gas cylinder association are meaningless these days; then why is there still a need for management, training, and certification? The certificates issued by the Standards Committee also have no value at all – so why is continuing education required every year, and why does one have to renew the certificate every 4 years? The Gas Cylinders Association is just a small branch of the container industry – what right does it have to oversee such a large sector? If it has the capability to manage it properly, that’s one thing, but if it ends up causing chaos in the industry, what is its goal then?
There is no longer any mandatory continuing education; when renewing a certificate, it no longer matters whether you have completed such education, and if you have, it at most counts as a bonus factor
There is a strong demand to abolish the Gas Association’s control over pressure audit certificates and examinations, so as to restore peace to the industry.
You obtained this certificate voluntarily; it doesn’t matter if you don’t pick it up.
Ordinary people cannot understand what experts do, but what experts say is definitely correct. The experts simply ignored the actual situation, the facts that exist objectively. It’s like a electric vehicle driving in the opposite direction and running a red light... Do you think it’s wrong for experts to advise you to buy insurance, obtain a vehicle registration, and get a driver’s license?
Enterprises with high standards require candidates to hold a certification issued by the relevant approval body for that year when recruiting; generally, companies also accept certifications from gas industry associations. As for the renewal of a company’s qualification certificates, whether the inspection team assigned for this process will approve it depends on local policies. I asked around in industry groups, and it turns out that some places accept such approvals while others do not. Whether this so-called expert panel accepts it or not is reflected in the following: if company employees hold certification issued by the Gas Association, they must take the computer-based test as part of the process of renewing the company’s qualifications (it seems that the questions used in these tests come from the Gas Association’s question bank). If the expert panel does not accept such certifications, then the employees holding those certificates must also take the computer-based test; otherwise, they do not need to.
