What is this side? What is its purpose?
Manhole, a hatch for entering the device to carry out work.
Manhole? This kind? It’s a bit small, isn’t it?
It is indeed a manhole, but we usually call it an access door here! This is the common arrangement for the manholes at the upper part of the steam drum!
I just went and found another picture to prove that I’m not making things up out of thin air; P
Size seems to be a vague concept; it would be best to provide the specifications. Some containers are also equipped with manholes, feeding/discharging holes, etc.
The manhole seal of the steam drum is located on the inside and achieves self-sealing due to the pressure of the medium
Is it elliptical in shape? The photo doesn’t show it as round
