A jacketed heat exchanger is a type of plate heat exchanger; it is constructed by installing a jacket on the outer wall of a container, and it has a simple structure； However, its heating surface is constrained by the container wall, resulting in a low heat transfer coefficient. To increase the heat transfer coefficient and ensure uniform heating of the liquid inside the tank, a stirrer can be installed in it. When cooling water or a heating agent without phase change is passed through the jacket, spiral baffles or other measures to increase turbulence can also be installed in the jacket in order to improve the heat transfer coefficient on one side of the jacket. To compensate for the insufficient heat transfer surface, coiled tubes can also be installed inside the tank. Jacketed heat exchangers are widely used for heating and cooling in reaction processes. The advantages of jacketed heat exchangers are: ◆ Simple structure ； ◆ Easy to process. The disadvantages of jacketed heat exchangers are: ◆ Small heat transfer area and low heat transfer efficiency.
