Leakage often occurs in the lean oil heat exchanger in the crude benzene section of our company and at the welds of the oil-to-oil heat exchanger and the threaded joints of the exhaust valve. Is there any good solution? Are there any units that use other forms of heat exchangers? What are the effects?
There is a problem with the installation, manufacturing, and welding quality! The groove and welding clearance are not done properly!
It is recommended to replace it with a wide flow channel plate heat exchanger. The spiral plate is too problematic.
It should be a welding defect, which can be solved by using a laser welded plate heat exchanger.
Recently, some manufacturers have introduced spiral tube heat exchangers. Have you used them here? What's the effect? Most of our working conditions are negative pressure distillation

The exhaust valve connecting thread is probably a thread sealing problem. It is recommended to replace it with a flange blind plate. There is nothing we can do about welds and internal leaks. Disadvantages of spiral plate heat exchangers. There is no way to repair it. If the blocking problem is not serious, it is recommended to replace it with a fully welded plate heat exchanger. If it is easy to block, either 100% flaw detection of the replacement spiral plate welds or shell and tube heat exchanger
Although the spiral plate has good heat exchange effect, leakage is not easy to repair, and it is better not to use corrosive materials.
