The general content is 50% to 52%, with a S content of about 18%. Pure potassium sulfate is a colorless crystal, while agricultural potassium sulfate is usually pale yellow in appearance. Potassium sulfate has low hygroscopicity, does not tend to caking, has good physical properties, and is easy to apply; it is an excellent water-soluble potassium fertilizer. Potassium sulfate is particularly suitable for cash crops that avoid chlorine and prefer potassium, such as tobacco, grapes, beets, tea plants, potatoes, flax, and various fruit trees. It is also a major raw material for producing chlorine-free nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium triple compound fertilizers. Potassium sulfate is a chemically neutral, physiologically acidic fertilizer suitable for various soils (excluding waterlogged soils) and crops. After being applied to the soil, potassium ions can be directly absorbed and utilized by crops, or they can be adsorbed by soil colloids. Applying potassium sulfate to sulfur-demanding crops such as cruciferous plants in sulfur-deficient soils yields better results.
