On July 22, material pouring for the air-cooled towers and water-cooled towers began, marking the start of the on-site manufacturing phase. On September 23, pressure testing of the air-cooled tower began; on September 25, the pressure testing was successful. On September 26, the painting work on both the air-cooled and water-cooled towers was completed, marking the finish of their on-site construction. The manufacturing of this equipment has played a positive role in promoting the construction of air separation plants. On September 28, at 11:17 a.m., the lifting of the first large-scale piece of equipment—the waste heat recovery unit—for the Gasification and Purification section of the Methanol Project undertaken by Sinochem Second Construction Company for China Coal Energy & Chemical Industry Group began. The unit stands 20.5 meters tall and weighs 98.5 tons. A 400-ton crawler crane was used as the main lifting device, while a 135-ton crawler crane served as the auxiliary crane. The top-lifting method was employed to raise the unit to a height of 45.4 meters. Given the high level of difficulty involved in this operation, the equipment had to be maneuvered through a concrete framework with a complex structure. The China National Coal Group EnerTech project, with an annual production capacity of 2 million tons of ammonia and 3.5 million tons of urea, is located in the Tuk Industrial Park within the Sulige Economic Development Zone in Uxin Banner. Construction was carried out in two phases. The first phase, involving the production of 1 million tons of ammonia and 1.75 million tons of urea per year, includes two air separation units with a capacity of 40,000 Nm3/h each; these units were completed and put into operation in 2013. Additionally, some of the utilities required for the second phase, as well as all office and living facilities, have also been constructed. Based on the current market conditions and operational status, Phase II of the project plans to shift from producing synthetic ammonia and urea to manufacturing 1 million tons of methanol, thereby supplying MTO-grade methanol feedstock to the olefin plants of China Coal Mengda Company.
