On September 28, 2020, the delivery of the large pieces of equipment for this project in Jiujiang was successfully completed. In the early stage of the construction of the Jiujiang large-scale project, it is urgent to bring in the large-scale equipment. Faced with challenges such as unclear load capacities of roads and bridges and lack of familiarity with the relevant standards, the Logistics Department of Jiujiang Company communicated in advance with the project team and equipment manufacturers. By taking into account the project milestones, they carefully planned the process for bringing the equipment to the site. They conducted a thorough investigation of the dock’s carrying capacity, bridge restrictions, and road conditions, and developed a multi-modal transportation plan for delivering the equipment. The first batch of project equipment arrived at the central state-owned enterprise’s dock in mid-July 2019. To ensure the smooth unloading and loading of the equipment, the logistics department was present throughout the process, using an 800-ton floating crane to facilitate the transfer of the 3 key pieces of equipment at the dock. (On July 20, 2019, the first batch of heavy equipment: the gasification unit). On October 2, 2019, the second batch of heavy equipment arrived at the port. Before transportation, the staff in the logistics department have clear roles and responsibilities assigned to individual persons, ensuring unified command and coordination. They assign professional staff and safety supervision personnel to coordinate, liaise on-site, and provide oversight to ensure the safe arrival of project equipment at the site. (October 2, 2019: the second batch of heavy equipment – lock hoppers and wash towers.) In mid-March 2020, Jiujiang Company received the third batch of heavy equipment. The logistics department was on high alert; once the ship arrived at the port, a 500-ton crane vessel (floating crane) was used to carry out lifting operations on the side of the ship’s outer deck. The loading and securing of the equipment were carried out in strict accordance with **relevant industry standards to ensure safety during transportation. (On December 16, 2019, the third batch of large-scale equipment: 16 units including wash towers, medium-pressure flash towers, methanol shift reactors, etc.) At 13:30 on August 7, 2020, the last batch of equipment arrived. In accordance with the unloading and transportation plan, all relevant units were ready; at the command given by the on-site dock supervisor, the core equipment, namely the urea tank reactor, began to be unloaded. The core equipment of the project, the batch reactor, took approximately 23 hours from unloading to transportation, and arrived safely at the plant around 18:00 on August 9. (August 7, 2020: The fourth batch of heavy equipment – tank reactors) Preparation is key to success; under the leadership of the senior management at the Jiujiang company, the logistics team developed several plans, selected the best ones from among them, and made thorough preparations while having backup options ready, in order to ensure that the project equipment arrived at the site safely and on time. The successful phased delivery of large-scale equipment for this major project has created the prerequisite for starting up the Jiujiang project, and it represents a solid step forward toward its commissioning.
