According to reports from Kasali, the 700,000 tons per year ammonia synthesis unit of the Yingshan Xindu Chemical Salt and Chemical Green Transformation and Upgrading project has successfully entered a stable operation phase after the catalyst was heated and reduced. After short-term operation at light load, the plant exceeded its production capacity by the beginning of March 2026, reaching 2,700 tons per day, with an ammonia purity of over 18.5%. Xindu Chemical uses Swiss Cassali technology for ammonia synthesis. The ammonia synthesis tower weighs 580 tons, has a diameter of 3.6 meters and a height of 32.5 meters; it was manufactured by Shanxi Yangmei Chemical Machinery Group Co., Ltd. Cassali’s proprietary patent-designed non-screen-type SLOT reactor internals, with their excellent quality in precision manufacturing, provide essential support for the safe operation of the equipment, allowing all operators to completely eliminate any concerns related to mechanical reliability. Casali also provided fluidized bed urea granulation technology for Yingcheng Xindu. The urea granulation plant with an annual production capacity of 500,000 tons is also under accelerated construction. It is expected to come online within the year, further enhancing the product market competitiveness of Yingcheng Xindu Chemical. The Cassali ammonia synthesis tower is an axial-radial composite inner-tube structure ammonia synthesis tower developed by the Swiss company Cassali in the mid-1970s. It adopts a three-bed layer with two intermediate heat exchangers, and the gas flow pattern is axially-radial composite, featuring low gas pressure drop and high ammonia purity. Kasali has a large number of users in the Chinese market.
