According to Hubei Jinkong Gas in April 2026, the company’s comprehensive coal consumption for ammonia synthesis has been reduced to below 900 kilograms of standard coal, which is significantly better than the industry average of 1200 kilograms; this reduction results in annual cost savings of around 30 million yuan per furnace ； The co-produced LNG process reduces equipment by 30% and lowers startup costs by 40%. In addition, the process generates 140 million standard cubic meters of hydrogen per year, making the enterprise a hydrogen fuel supply center in the industrial park. The carbon conversion rate exceeds 99%, and the carbon emissions per ton of liquid ammonia are kept below 3.1 tons, which is far lower than the industry standard of **4.2 tons. 100% of the core technical equipment for this project is domestically produced; the installations operate stably with performance metrics that exceed the design values. This initiative also encourages 20 chemical enterprises in Dangyang City to strive for innovation and sustainability. The company invested 200 million yuan to build an intelligent wastewater treatment center, establishing a comprehensive water treatment system. By employing a new and efficient wastewater treatment process, the treatment efficiency has been increased by 10 times; the area required for this facility is only 1/10 of that needed for traditional processes. Some of the parameters of the treated wastewater meet the standards for Class IV surface water, making it suitable for use in landscaping and as a supplement to cooling water. In 2025, Hubei Jinkong Gas produced a total of 915,900 tons of ammonia throughout the year. By January 2026, the total ammonia production will reach 93,000 tons. The first phase of Hubei JinKong project, involving the conversion of facilities to produce 550,000 tons of ammonia and alcohol per year, utilizes an optimized version of the Saiding furnace gasification process (5 JM-S furnaces), along with core technologies provided by Saiding Company for conversion, heat recovery, and low-temperature methanol washing. This setup enables an annual production of 550,000 tons of ammonia, while also generating approximately 100,000 tons of LNG as a by-product. In May 2024, the 550,000-ton ammonia alcohol project completed its entire production process.
