Seeking help: During normal operation, when the temperatures before and after the flame arrester both reach the ignition point of the gas, does the flame arrester at that location lose its function of preventing fires? Can the flame arrester be removed?
If a flame arrester is installed there, it should not be possible. A flame requires three conditions: oxygen, temperature, and space. The flame arrester can still block the flame. Such as those with multi-layer metal mesh. The flame won’t be able to pass through. The number of layers in the mesh is related to the pressure that may be generated by tempering. I have made flame arrestors before.
