May I ask if our exhaust gas boiler is a device that uses an open flame, with combustible exhaust gases being fed in for combustion (the exhaust gases contain hydrogen)? Do all the electrical instruments and equipment in the area where this exhaust gas boiler is located need to be designed to be explosion-proof? Also, do the online devices for exhaust vent pipes need to be designed for explosion prevention as well? Are there any guidelines? Thank you
It depends on whether your design drawings designate this boiler room as an explosion-proof area; generally, if the concentration of flammable substances is below 10% of the lower explosive limit, no explosion-proof design is required for the boiler room. For relevant standards, refer to 3.2.2 of GB 50058. Additionally, the ventilation and electrical systems in the boiler room need to be designed to be explosion-proof. At the locations where gas is regulated on-site, gas concentration monitoring should be installed; equipment located near these gas regulation units is also advised to be explosion-proof.
The exhaust pipe can be designed to be explosion-proof; no such consideration is needed in areas with open flames. Reference.
