Dear experts: I would like to ask regarding the \"GB 50160-2008 Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises (2018 edition)\\" – what specific situations are these terms \"open-flame areas\" and \"open-flame equipment\" applied in, and what is the difference between them?

Isn’t this specification definition quite clear?
In my opinion, when measuring fire separation distances, for open-flame equipment, the starting point is the surface of the equipment, while for areas with open flames, the starting point is the outermost edge of the building/structure. Therefore, in 50160, the spacing between open-flame devices must be greater than that from the locations where open flames are present. It would be more practical to discuss open-flame equipment and areas where open flames are used separately
Equipment with an open flame doesn’t necessarily have an actual open flame, but places where there is an open flame definitely have one, haha
