On April 6, China Chemical Engineering Caiding Company announced that it had won the bid for the EPC general contracting project of the 500t/h phenol-amine recovery unit – the largest of its kind in China – for the Guoneng Xinjiang coal-to-gas project. This success once again demonstrates China’s engineering capabilities and technical advantages in the field of environmental protection for large-scale coal chemical projects. It is reported that the project is located in the Xiheshan Industrial Park of the Zhundong Economic and Technological Development Zone in Xinjiang, covering an area of 223.85 hectares. It is a key project aimed at promoting the on-site conversion of coal resources and establishing an integrated clean energy industry framework; it holds great strategic significance for optimizing the energy structure and facilitating the green and efficient use of coal. As the core environmental protection facility for coal-to-gas projects, the phenol-amine recovery unit plays a key role in treating complex wastewater. The wastewater treated by this project has a complex composition, containing various pollutants such as ammonia, phenols, fatty acids, and acidic gases. During the treatment process, numerous technical challenges arise, including equipment corrosion, scaling, and biochemical inhibition, which place extremely high demands on engineering design, construction, and operation and maintenance.
