Experts, regarding the pressure regulation valves and relief regulation valves installed on pressure storage tanks, should they be set to operate in an emergency open mode or an emergency closed mode? What are the criteria for making this choice? Thank you all.
Accident start? If there is no instrument air, the pressure charging control valve will open and keep charging pressure – isn’t that incorrect?
The two valves you mentioned are likely the vertical control valves in the nitrogen sealing system. If that’s the case, there is no such thing as an emergency open or emergency close mode; they are controlled by the pressure set within them. As long as there is nitrogen, everything is fine; if the nitrogen runs out, it’s okay for a short period of time, but over an extended period, neither the open nor closed position will work. Turning it off risks pressure buildup, while turning it on poses a risk of air entering the storage tank, which is dangerous.
It’s best to check the instructions for your question, or contact the manufacturer by phone. There are many types of jars, each with different uses. Either send a video to facilitate discussion.

There are self-acting control valves as well as pneumatic control valves. If it is a pneumatic control valve, I personally prefer an fail-open setting. As long as the pressure release rate is greater than the stamping speed, the tank will not experience overpressure, thereby avoiding other unnecessary problems. This is just my personal opinion; I haven’t checked the standards.
