The inlet is the main air pipeline, while the outlet is the pressurized air pipeline. During startup, if the outlet vent is fully open and there is no back pressure on the booster pump, the secondary thrust bearing may be damaged due to design characteristics of the booster pump itself. During the normal startup of the pressurization unit, the vent valve is fully closed, and the bypass valve is opened to connect the outlet back to the main air pipeline. 2. When the unit is in operation and a fault occurs in the currently in use booster pump and it is necessary to switch to another pump, since both the outlets of Booster Pump No. 1 and No. 2 are connected to bypass valves, opening these outlets for venting would damage the secondary thrust bearings. If the outlet valves of the booster pump units are opened directly, it will cause sharp fluctuations in the flow rate of the pressurized air, affecting production and making it difficult to complete the process of switching to another pump. Is the bypass valve on the main pipe or after the compressor outlet valve? It should normally be in front of the outlet valve.

I would like to reconnect the two vent lines that lead away from the silencer back to the inlet (in front of the inlet valve). Please give me some guidance, senior colleague.
Judging from the first diagram, the backup machine cannot start up because there is no way for current to flow back. A manual valve can be added to lead from in front of the vent line valve to the inlet, and then the machine can be started. Once the second diagram is modified, the machine can be shut down normally, and the purpose of the main pipe vent valve becomes less significant.
I feel like making such modifications is complicated. Is it sufficient to ensure that the compressor at the outlet of the backup unit has a certain level of pipeline pressure when switching to it? If that’s the case, just add a bypass line at the check valve.
During the modification, a switch valve (emergency shut-off valve) was added to remotely close that return line. Is it not very meaningful?
But this still causes problems with fluctuations in the main air flow rate.
