Sinopec has been granted an invention patent for “A preparation method and application of a modified chitosan Schiff base corrosion inhibitor”. According to data from the Tianyancha app, Sinopec (600028) has obtained a new invention patent, titled “A preparation method and application of a modified chitosan Schiff base corrosion inhibitor”. The patent application number is CN202111108449.6, and the date of grant is August 15, 2025. Patent Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of metal corrosion and protection, and specifically to a preparation method and application of a modified chitosan Schiff base corrosion inhibitor. The preparation method includes six steps: (1) Preparation of a gel-like chitosan dispersion ； (2) Preparation of an ethanol solution of 2,6-dimethyl-5-heptenal ； (3) Addition of the gel-like chitosan dispersion ； (4) Addition of the ethanol solution of 2,6-dimethyl-5-heptenal and the Schiff base reaction ； (5) Rotary evaporation for dehydration of reaction products ； (6) Washing, filtration by vacuum, and drying. This invention utilizes 2,6-dimethyl-5-heptenal, a common food additive, as a modifier to condense with the natural polymer chitosan in order to produce an acid-resistant corrosion inhibitor; the process is simple and the production cost is low ； Applied to N80 steel sheets in hydrochloric acid media for corrosion inhibition, it requires a low concentration while effectively enhancing the corrosion inhibition efficiency of this inhibitor against metals. It is an environmentally friendly and cost-effective corrosion inhibitor with good prospects for widespread use.
