However, in actual projects the operating pressure of the oil and gas recovery pipelines is around 3 KPa; is it still necessary to set the design pressure at 1.0 MPa and the nominal pressure at 1.6 MPa? ?

In case of accidents such as valves being closed accidentally, the pressure inside the pipes or storage tanks can rise to several tens of kilopascals, which poses a risk of overpressure for both the equipment and the pipes ; The power device used in oil and gas recovery equipment is generally a fan, and its vacuum level also determines the negative pressure at which the pipes operate. In some of Sinopec’s earlier oil and gas recovery systems, the fans caused the pipes to become under negative pressure and lose stability...
