It is said to be used during maintenance, but there are many valves throughout the pipeline – how can one know for sure that it’s the valve here that will fail?
That pipe has a one-way valve, so the liquid can’t flow back. When it needs to be drained, drain it from here
Actually, the common practice is to use a stop valve instead; I just don’t understand what purpose this design serves :(
The pump used to feed material into the tall tower; when the pump stopped suddenly, the liquid column in the pipeline flowed back, causing the pump to rotate in reverse and the filter to be crushed. So it is protected by a check valve. It is necessary to drain the pipeline while also using a bypass

During normal operation, the ball valves on the curved sections are closed; they are only opened when there is a fault with the check valve or during maintenance (in which case, the two ball valves near the check valve also need to be closed). In this way, the pipeline can operate properly.

Do check valves break easily? Is this design meant specifically to prevent it from failing?
