Let me start by explaining my understanding: A pilot-operated safety valve is one in which the pilot valve opens automatically when the critical pressure is reached, which in turn causes the valve element of the safety valve connected to it to open as well; it then closes automatically when the pressure drops. Similar to digital signals. A self-acting pressure control valve sets the pressure by adjusting the tension of the diaphragm. When the pressure before or after the valve changes, the pressure in the connecting pipe also changes, thereby breaking the balance that existed previously with the diaphragm; as a result, the valve element tends to open or close accordingly.
