Can intrinsically safe instruments and flameproof instruments both be made explosion-proof using explosion-proof gland fittings? What are the visual differences between these two types of instruments? How can one tell at a glance what type of instrument it is?

Flameproof types generally appear larger than intrinsically safe types, and they are sometimes also more expensive. The most accurate way is to check the nameplate. Using explosion-proof flanges is acceptable, but test results show that many so-called experts only recognize explosion-proof hoses and not flanges – what a pity for this industry!
Of course, there is a clear difference: for intrinsically safe explosion-proof instruments, valves, and fittings, the Grunfeld connectors are all in sky blue.
Explosion-proof glands can be used in all cases; there is no difference in appearance. If it is necessary to check the nameplate of the gauge on site, one can refer to the documentation to determine the difference based on the signals indicated
