Are all electric valves electric control valves?
In my opinion, the scope of electric valves is broader; anything that uses electricity as its power source is considered an electric valve, including on-off valves, while electric control valves are just one type of electric valve.
Why are electric valves more widely used?

An electric valve is a valve driven by electrical energy, and it mainly consists of an electric actuator and various types of valves. Due to their ease of use – they can operate as soon as the power is connected – electric valves are the most commonly used type of automatic control valve. There are many types of electric valves; the commonly used ones include electric control valves, electric ball valves, electric butterfly valves, electric gate valves, and electric globe valves. Different models of electric valves are suitable for different applications. Electric control valves allow for the selection of different valve structures and valve element types depending on the medium being handled, and they are primarily used in pipelines carrying media at high, medium, and low pressures to regulate the parameters of these pipelines. As the requirements in the field of modern industrial automation continue to rise, electric control valves are being used more and more widely. By using different materials, medium pipes for various liquids and gases can be employed. Electric ball valves and electric butterfly valves are the most widely used types of electric valves. Equipped with different actuators, they can be used to achieve complete isolation of pipelines, as well as for regulating flow in applications where strict linear control is not required. Electric butterfly valves come in wafer-type and flange-type connection styles, and are commonly used in large-diameter pipelines under normal pressure conditions. Electric ball valves are used in a similar manner to electric butterfly valves, but they can handle higher pressures than the latter. Electric gate valves and electric globe valves both serve to shut off flow in pipelines, but it should be noted that these two types of valves cannot be used for regulating flow. Suitable for various large-diameter applications under high, medium, and low pressure conditions.
We use electric control valves very rarely here; as far as I remember, only the fuel oil in boilers uses electric control valves, while all other electric valves serve as switches
General chemical enterprises* typically use pneumatic control valves and pneumatic shut-off valves, which feature fast response times; In some plant sites without gas supply, electric control valves and electric shut-off valves are also chosen ; Some industries* commonly use electric valves, including both electric control valves and electric shut-off valves.
Regarding control valves and on-off valves, if the type of valve core and the valve body structure are not taken into account, the only difference lies in the actuator. As for electric actuators, modern electric actuators of a slightly higher quality can be used for switching as well as for adjustment; it’s just a matter of having one more or one less circuit board. Of course, for lower-end electric heads, the switch is much cheaper than the regulator.
Classified by drive type: electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic. Regardless of the type of drive, there is a control switch.
