Which is more expensive, the isolation barrier or the safety barrier?
If by isolation barrier you mean a safety isolation barrier, then such barriers are expensive; if by isolation barrier you simply mean what is known as an isolator, then safety barriers are the expensive ones. I don’t know which one you’re referring to. A regular isolator is sufficient for non-explosion-proof hazardous areas.
Under normal circumstances, the safety barrier is the more expensive one.
First of all, I personally really dislike the current colloquial terms; what is meant by such terms may vary from place to place and not always refer to the same thing. For example, the isolation barrier you mentioned – is it a signal isolator? Isolated safety barrier? Safety fences are also divided into Zener-type safety fences and isolation-type safety fences. Isolated safety barrier > Signal isolator > Zener type
The isolation barrier serves primarily to isolate signals, resist interference, ensure the proper functioning of signals, and also provide a certain level of protection. The safety barrier is mainly used to protect against surges and lightning strikes. Some products have both functions.
