Our company is a natural gas company that uses Siemens operating systems. Recently, there have been instances where the valves suddenly stopped sending signals, causing them to close abruptly before returning to their normal state. Does anyone know what could be the reason for this?

First, it is necessary to check the system’s output records for any signs of sudden changes in the signal. If not, then is there enough sudden external interference when changes occur? Also, if it is a control valve, it is necessary to check whether there are any abnormalities with the positioner. In fact, there are many different factors that can lead to this phenomenon.

Is there a signal indication on the computer, or are there actual switches for the valves on-site? If it’s only shown on the computer, it might be a problem with signal transmission; if there are switches on-site as well, then the wiring needs to be checked
