With the Yokogawa CS3000 system, version R3, the engineer station was installed on a personal computer running XP SP3. The KEYCODE was installed, and no errors were encountered during the installation process. After installation, it was possible to access the System View as well as open projects for configuration; however, it was not possible to access HIS. When trying to start HIS automatically, the message “Illegal E*t Code” appeared, and this issue persisted even after reinstalling the system. Since there is no floppy disk, a virtual floppy drive is used to install KEYCODE. What should be done?

Firstly, there is no need for a virtual floppy disk. For versions prior to R3.08, simply change the drive letter of the USB drive to A; it will be recognized automatically during installation. For versions after R3.08, it is possible to specify the path directly. Secondly, it is recommended to install it on a virtual machine, as this will make things easier later on. Finally, this issue arises because antivirus software and firewalls were turned off during the installation process. It is recommended not to use XP optimization versions downloaded from the Internet, such as those from Deep or Luobagjia. When this error occurs, the usual solution is to reinstall the system; it is advised to create a clean version of XP using GHOST before installing any software, as this allows for a faster restoration.
