Dear experts in instrumentation, on the computer, the automatic valve suddenly switches to manual mode, and the RST indicator turns red; it is necessary to click on RST in order to restore automatic operation. What is causing this?
:Different manufacturers use different functional blocks, which can result in various fault symptoms. So it’s best if you mention the DCS or PLC manufacturer you use, as well as the function blocks employed. For example, with Yokogawa DCS systems, if the output circuit is open-circuited, it will trigger a PID OOP alarm and switch the system to manual mode
Thank you! I work in the process area; since this fault has occurred several times and the instrument control staff couldn’t provide a clear answer, I came to this forum for advice.
Our equipment is 20 years old; it uses the American MAX1000
The program got out of control; it suddenly started acting strangely~~~ Mobile phones also often experience such minor issues, like the volume suddenly dropping significantly – one has to adjust the settings to get it back to normal. .
This happened due to interference. . . After the program ran out of control, the system should have been reset and restarted.
If we go beyond the range, it will automatically switch to manual mode
Thank you all for your concern. With the help of the manufacturer’s staff, the problem has been resolved. It was a hardware issue related to poor grounding, but the grounding wires were in good condition.
The Mad Doctor is so amazing! What you said makes sense
