May I ask what the criteria are for setting the high limit, very high limit, low limit, and very low limit for solvent storage tanks? For example, if the height of the tank is 5000 mm, what are the high limit, low limit, and very high limit? Low low limit?
During design, the set values are determined based on the filling coefficient of the medium in the storage tank and the relevant design specifications
Upper limit, lower limit, upper upper limit, lower lower limit – is there no calculation involved? For example, the upper limit shouldn’t exceed 80% of the tank’s capacity, and things like that?
I need to check the design requirements regarding the liquid level alarm values for storage tanks.
It’s still determined by the manufacturing process, I guess. For example, if the liquid level in your tank remains stable with little variation, it’s clearly different from a situation where the level is unstable and changes very rapidly; the settings must be different in such cases.
This design takes into account that different media and operating temperatures require different settings.
The filling coefficient refers to a limit set for a particular medium, based on characteristics such as volatility and expansibility; a storage tank is not allowed to hold more than this percentage. For example, if the value is 88%, it is common to set it at 85% or 80%. If the filling coefficient is 95%, values of 90% or 85% can be used. Generally, values of 80% or 90% are chosen. As for the low and lowest levels, these depend on the location of the pipes at the bottom of the storage tank; unless there are special requirements, they can be set at 0%
