Regarding the height of the fire dike for the tank farm

Hello everyone, our company intends to build a tank farm. Since the available ground area for the tank farm is limited, and the largest tank has a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters, the height of the fire dike required is calculated to be 2.6 meters; adding an additional 0.2 meters brings this height to 2.8 meters. According to the \"Design Code for Oil Depots,\" the height of a fire dike should not exceed 3.2 meters, while according to the \"Design Fire Protection Code for Petrochemical Enterprises,\" it should not exceed 2.2 meters. We are not sure which code should be followed. Will the fire dike of 2.8 meters meet the requirements for fire safety inspections once it is built? Are the fire dikes in your warehouse built this high?

The two specifications use different wording: one is “should not”, and the other is “is not advisable”.
